For garden rooms, sheds, fencing and decking

Design it, price it and sell it in 3D

Draw what you build from the materials you really use. VisualConfig works out the cutting list and the price from the same model, and lets your customers configure their own on your website.

The floor plan

Draw it on the plan, or push and pull it in 3D

Sketch a footprint, stand a partition across it and drop doors and windows onto any wall. Every wall is built as you draw it, from the build-ups you choose, so the plan is the building, not a picture of one.

Layers and materials

Built from what you actually build with

Every face is a stack of real layers, each a material you buy, laid the way you lay it. Change how it's built and the model, the cutting list and the price all change with it.

Costs

Every board, sheet and litre the model is built from is counted, the cuts are packed into the lengths you buy, and each line is priced against your suppliers' SKUs. Pick a line and put your own price on it.

The build pack

Not just a pretty picture: the paperwork to build it

Every design prints as a job pack for the office and the workshop: the model on the cover, then every wall set out stud by stud with its cutting list, and what to order from whom. It's written from the same model the customer configured, so the factory builds what was sold.

Here's the front wall's page, and the same frame picked out on the model.

Customers and calendar

From enquiry to handover, in one place

Enquiries arrive with the design the customer built. Book the survey, order the materials and plan the build, and the programme follows how it's built: panels made in a factory, or a frame put up on site.

From the first sketch to the cutting list

For firms that design, make and install garden rooms, sheds, fencing, decking and timber buildings. One model gives you the picture, the price and the plans.

  • Draw it in 3D, or on the plan

Buildings, walls, roofs, decks, fences and paths. Push a wall out, split a roof into a gable, and drop doors and windows onto any face.

  • Built from what you actually use

Every face is a stack of real layers: studs at centres, sheets laid from the corner, cladding, membranes and coats of paint. Openings are framed for you.

  • The take-off comes from the model

A cutting list packed into the lengths you buy, your wastage allowance, and every line priced against your own suppliers.

  • One design, a whole range

A configurator turns a design into a product: widths in whole bays, cladding in six colours, a door the customer can slide along the wall.

  • Customers design it on your website

Publish a configurator as a page, or put it in your own site. Every enquiry arrives with the design they built, ready to price.

  • A job pack for the people building it

Face plans with set-out marks, cut lists and materials grouped by supplier, in one PDF.

  • On the real ground

Bring in a phone scan of the garden, stand the building on it, and see how much soil has to come out.

  • See it in the garden

Customers can place the design in augmented reality from their phone, on iPhone and Android alike.

  • Set up by asking

Tell the assistant what you sell and it adds the materials, build-ups and designs for you to check.

How it works

  1. 01

    Add your materials

Your suppliers, the sizes you buy and what you pay, or add them from the shared catalogue and put your own prices on.

  2. 02

    Build it once

Put your constructions together as build-ups, draw a design from them, and add a configurator for the choices a customer gets.

  3. 03

    Sell it and build it

Publish it for customers, price each enquiry from the model, and send the job pack to whoever is building it.

Frequently asked questions

  • Who is VisualConfig for?

Firms that design and build in timber: garden rooms, sheds, summerhouses, fencing, decking, pergolas and the like, whether you install them yourself or make them to sell. If what you build can be described as layers of material on a frame, it can be drawn and priced here.

  • Do I need to know CAD?

No. You draw on a plan or push and pull faces in 3D, and the framing, cladding and sheets are laid out by the build-ups you choose. You say how a wall is built once, and every design that uses it is built the same way.

  • Where do the prices come from?

From your own suppliers. Each material carries the sizes you buy and what each supplier charges, and the take-off picks the cheapest way to buy what the model needs, including your wastage allowance. Customers on a public page never see your costs or your suppliers.

  • Can customers use it on my own website?

Yes. Publish a configurator and customers can design their own and send it to you as an enquiry. Depending on your package, it can also sit inside your existing website or be served from your own domain.

  • Can I use my own 3D models?

Yes. Upload glTF, OBJ, FBX, STL and other common formats to place furniture, a house or a phone scan of the garden beside your design. A scan can be marked as the ground, so a building stands on it and the dig is measured.

  • What happens when the free trial ends?

The dashboard locks until you choose a package. Your materials, designs and customers are kept, so you carry on where you left off.
